Nuclear weapons

With the Bombspotting campaign in 1997, Vredesactie took up the theme of nuclear weapons of mass destruction again. We picked up where we left off at the end of the eighties with an important new argument: the ruling of the ICJ in The Hague of july 8th, 1996. This ruling decided that using and threatening to use nuclear weapons is unlawful.

The Bombspotting campaign was built with three main components: a judicial route, a political avenue and a societal perspective. With this campaign, Vredesactie managed to put nuclear weapons in the political and public spotlight again.
