Stop fuelling War: March against Russian Gas!

Come to Brussels on 12 May to help call for an end to the gas deal between Fluxys and Russia.

This deal makes Zeebrugge the largest hub for Russian liquefied gas in the world!

Why are we marching?

* By allowing Russian gas to flow through the port of Zeebrugge, we strengthen Russia's military capabilities, allowing it to continue its offensive against Ukraine.

* The Russian gas industry relies heavily on access to Zeebrugge. By denying that access, we undermine Russia's plans to triple its LNG production capacity by 2035, which would be an outright climate disaster.

Meanwhile, we welcome the steps Energy Minister Tinne Van der Straeten intends to take to obtain a European ban on the transshipment of Russian LNG. We also call on all governments in Belgium to support this proposal, and demand a clear human rights framework for companies like Fluxys to avoid such situations in the future.

Together, we send a clear message to Fluxys and the government:

* Our trade relations should help protect human rights instead of financing wars.

* Fossil fuels and expansion of their infrastructure are plans of the past and do not offer a sustainable future.

Members of the Ukrainian community have been invited to this protest. Out of respect for the victims of the war, we will keep a serene tone. So it will be a peaceful, silent protest march where we invite you to come dressed in black or bring black flags or banners. Our march will start at the office of energy minister, Tinne Van der Straeten, and continue to the headquarters of Fluxys.

We want this event to be open to everyone. There is no room in our events for sexism, racism, ageism, validism, trans- or LGBT-phobia and other forms of hatred.
